Health PS Susan Mochache has urged public to adhere to the regulations of the ministry of health on COVID-19 in order to stem the rising cases of virus in the county.
Speaking at Nyaura primary Schools during the ground breaking of the new construction of the school, Ms Mochache said that public has started to flout rules and guideliness of COVID-19 protocols leading to surging of the new cases reported in the country.
She cited that public should put on facemasks the right way, avoid shaking hands and clean their hands regularly to contain the virus.
“I urge residents to follow the directives to the letter in order to win the war against the COVID-19, the virus is back,”Ps said.
According to her, the government is not ready to be placed under lockdown since it would mean curtailing the business and the economy of the county would suffer greatly.
On the issue of monkey pox virus, Mochache assured the public of surveillance system that have been strengthened at every point of the entry into the country to ensure that safety of the citizens.
She cites that the ministry could use same response mechanism to contain the virus.
She urged public to wash hands, sanitize, wear face mask and practice social distancing to contain spread of the virus.
The Ps called on residents who have not been vaccinated to get the jab at the nearest health facility adding that it is more prudent to prevent the disease.
Ms Mochache said that the vaccines are offered free of charge in all health public facility centers.
