Kenya Hosts 2nd International Workshop On Onsite Domestic Wastewater Management

Nairobi has become the focal point for global efforts toward sustainable wastewater management as it proudly hosts the 2nd International Workshop of the ISO Technical Committee 224/WG8 on Onsite Domestic Wastewater Management. The event, attended by local and international experts, underscores the urgent need for innovative and sustainable solutions to one of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Speaking on behalf of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Managing Director, Esther Ngari, the KEBS Director of Finance, Adan Mohamed, expressed the organization’s pride in hosting this landmark event. “Today, we proudly host the 2nd International Workshop of ISO Technical Committee 224/WG8 on Onsite Domestic Wastewater Management in Nairobi! Together with local and international experts, we are tackling one of the world’s most pressing challenges: sustainable wastewater management for a cleaner, healthier planet,” he remarked.

The workshop aims to explore best practices, innovative technologies, and practical solutions to improve wastewater management systems, particularly in domestic settings. By addressing these challenges, participants are contributing to global efforts to safeguard public health, protect the environment, and advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This collaborative event highlights Kenya’s growing leadership in addressing environmental and sanitation challenges, setting the stage for further advancements in wastewater management both regionally and globally. The outcomes of this workshop are expected to influence policies, standards, and practices, paving the way for a healthier and more sustainable future.

On his part Mr Daniel Wanjuki the Chief Executive Officer of Ecosave Africa noted:
