Economist and Nyeri County gubernatorial aspirant Gachara Kamanga believes he is the best placed person who can liberate the locals from their current standards of living.
Kamanga who is popularly known as ‘Anko G of Vision 2030’ says he has the hidden card that will spur economic growth in the county.
Thus,Β he want Nyerians to support his bid to be the next governor under independent candidature ticket.
Speaking yesterday during a morning show at Kameme TV, Kamanga articulated some of issues he hopes to address once he resumes office.
He disclosed that having worked as an Economist in different parts of the world and having been exposed through consultancy with reknown International organizations, he had what was required to steer the county to greater heights.
He said, he was one of the people who former president, the late Mwai Kibaki headhunted alongside former Nyeri governor Dr Wahome Gakuru to draft the Vision 2030 Blueprint and thus his experience could come in handy as far as running the affairs of the Nyeri County were concerned.
Kamanga cited value addition of various produce, improvement of heath and establishment of cottage industries as part of manifesto which he hopes to work on.
He disclosed that he had plans where farmers, irrespective of their subsectors of speciality would be earning at least Sh60,000 per month from their produce.
In his quest to be the next governor, Anko G will be battling it with among others,Β the Incumbent Mutahi Kahiga who will be defending his seat on UDA ticket,Β Senator Ephraim Maina Kirinyaga who will be seeking the seat on Jubilee ticket, industrialist Thuo Mathenge who will be flying The New Democrats (TND) ticket, accountant Nyaga Muya who is an Independent aspirant and another Economist Peter Maina Munyiri of Chama Cha Kazi party.
