With you I soared to heights above,

Through you I saw both good and bad of man,

The true face of life revealed to me,

I lived it with you, I saw it with you.

At times I walked the path of hardship,

At times I was amazed by my own fortune.

I blossomed, I opened, I laughed in brightness,

And told it all to you, described it all.

My fortune is with you, my happiness too,

It all entered smiling, I laughed with it.

Today no pen could capture its worth—

My greatness, my dearest, has come with you.

I dedicate to you the finest of lines,

My joy is with you, my life is with you.

I was no child, yet like a child I became,

With you I learned what it means to live.

Never before was my 18th spring like this,

I’ll never regret the years that have passed.

Till you, I never knew the taste of fortune—

Oh, don’t take it away, my 18 years.
