Big win for Felicity Nkirote Biriri as Meru County top guns back her political bid of Women Representative

Fecility Biriri, a new entrant in Meru County politics, is winning big in her quest to vie for Women Representative in 2022 general elections, following the unanimous endorsement by key leaders including Governor Kiraitu Murungi.

Most of these leaders have strongly associated remarkable leadership skills with her service in both private and public sector. Felicity is a champion of productivity, improvement, innovative thinking and strategic insights. She is an alumni of the US State Fortune 500 mentorship program where she was attached to the Vice President Walmart and is a certified mediator.

In whatever she does, Felicity stands out as a dependable and accountable custodian of public resources placed under her care, driving national development including community, institutional and individual growth. In the last ten years, Felicity has played a critical role in the public sector, managing and providing strategic and visionary leadership in multiple organizations.

Her most recent post was the chairperson of the Meru County Investment and Development Corporation (MCIDC), a position she held for four years until her resignation to vie for Meru County Women Representative.

Prior to her last portfolio, Felicity was a member of the Meru County assumption of office Committee that oversaw the assumption of the office of the Governor in 2017 and the handover of the previous Governor. Being a strong believer in the value of education, she gave valuable guidance to the Meru University of Science and Technology (for three years) as a University Council Member and as Chair of the Finance Committee; and a Committee Member of the Human Resources Committee.

Previously, she had sat in the Moi University Council (for six years), chairing Finance and Disciplinary Committee and member, Human Resource Committee. Felicity also served for six years as a member of the National Environment Complaints Committee (Environment Ombudsman) representing the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).

Felicity did a short stint of two years as director, Geothermal Development Company before moving to Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) for six years where she oversaw the parastatal’s operations as a board member, chairing the Human Resources Committee and as a member of the finance committee. She extended her service to the KPC Pension Scheme for six years as the chairperson of the board of trustees.
