The other day, 6th March 2022, while at Gikambura football stadium,Kikuyu, Kiambu, Kenya; waiting to watch a match between our home football team and a team from Juja, Kiambu; we had an engaging conversations with a group of friends, neighbours, and fans of the team. At some point of the conversation I made this statement: ” that I am a sinner, and God is Holy”, so how can I be in fellowship with this Holy God? I went further and asked a few persons: Do you know that you are a sinner? Some indeed said they were sinners, while others to my amazement said that they were not! This resonated with me of the extent Jesus Christ is misunderstood or is not even known and needs to be preached fervently and articulately.
It is written “HOW GOD ANOINTED JESUS OF NAZARETH WITH THE HOLY GHOST AND WITH POWER: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” (Acts 10:38). “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: AND BEING FOUND IN FASHION AS A MAN, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:5-8).
Many people do not understand that Jesus Christ, although He was the Son of God often referred to Himself as the Son of Man. I believe that one of the reasons He did that was for us to recognize that He took upon Himself the form of a man. The Scripture tells us that, “He humbled himself and was found in fashion as a man.” Becoming a man means that He had all the frailties and weaknesses of man. The Bible says that He was tempted in all points like us. “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).
SELAH! WHO IS LIKE OUR LORD, GOD CHRIST JESUS? NO ONE, GREAT THOU ART.
