The DCP leader pauses his diaspora campaign trail for Sunday worship in Pullman

Democracy for the Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, worshipped at Favor Time Church in Pullman, Washington, on Sunday, pausing a politically charged diaspora tour for a morning of prayer and reflection.
The couple, who are on a 50-day tour of the United States ahead of the 2027 general election, have made faith a visible thread throughout their American visit. Gachagua, who a day earlier had addressed Kenyans in nearby Spokane and made headlines by declaring he would willingly serve as Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s running mate if the numbers demanded it, spent Sunday away from the political platform.
Invoking the Great Commission from Mark 16:15 — “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” — Gachagua called for continued divine protection over Kenya, saying: “May God continue to bless and protect Kenya abundantly.”
For a politician navigating one of the most consequential pre-election periods in Kenya’s recent history, the Sunday pause carried its own quiet message: that behind the coalition arithmetic and the diaspora speechmaking, something quieter and more personal endures.
