Sebastian Matundura, a 61 years old has surrendered himself at Gesonso police station for killing his step son a 30 year old.
This is the third incident of killings in Nyamira and Kisii County.
In Nyamira County, Ezekiel Nkeere Gitangwa was found murdered in a nurse’s house on New Year’s Day, with all limbs chopped off according to police.
It was alleged that the teacher was killed over love triangle.
According to police officers, Gitangwa, who was 47 and married, may have been in a romantic relationship with the nurse, Agneta Agwata, who has gone into hiding and is considered the prime suspect in the case.
In Kisii County a man hacked his two daughters to death and dumped them into a farm and has been detained for 14 days waiting for completion of the investigation.
Also in Kisii County, baby Sagini ‘eyes were gouged and the suspects are in Kisii Prison and waiting for their fate on 23/1/2023.
The accused person is alleged to have killed his step son Peter Bogecho over family wrangles at Igonga Sub location Kisii County.
According to the police report, the accused person were quarrelling and the incident led the step son to be hacked to death.
The accused person went to his neighbor to report that he had killed his step son.
Confirming the incident Kisii South OCPD Charles Machinji said that the accused person has surrended himself at the police station as they launch the investigation.
Machinji urged the public to solve issues amicably.
He has called upon public to always report grievances and illegal acts committed against them instead of taking the law in their own hands.
He pointed that there has been a few cases of people taking the law in their hands and warned that anyone who does so risks being punished by law regardless of committing the offence against a suspect or a wrongdoer.
“Taking law in your hands can lead to victimizing an innocent person or sometime lead to violence and body harm where assault and mob justice involved, this is why we urge you to always report any misunderstanding to the authorities. “he said.
