A Call for Unity and Accountability: Kalonzo Speaks to Mount Kenya’s Future Leaders

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka  held a meeting with the Mount Kenya Colleges and Universities Student Association (MCUSA), where he praised the leadership of the Gen Z generation and emphasized the importance of standing up for the country’s future. Accompanied by prominent lawyer Ndegwa Njiru and former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Kalonzo encouraged the young leaders to remain committed to Kenya’s unity and progress.

During the event, Kalonzo congratulated the Gen Z leaders, emphasizing the need for national unity

“The Gen Z have shown that it’s doable. I urge you  to continue leading by example and stand up for our  country. Do not allow anyone to divide communities to achieve their objectives.” He said.

Kalonzo also took the opportunity to address key issues currently facing the country, strongly opposing the controversial Adani deal.

“Kenyans are saying no to that Adani deal, we will not auction our future.” He asserted.

Additionally, he highlighted the challenges citizens face in obtaining ID cards, calling it a basic right for all Kenyans. Kalonzo further condemned the recent abductions in Kitengela, demanding the safe return of the three individuals who were abducted.

“Abductions must stop. The families of those abducted are living in fear and hiding. This must end.” He Stated

As President William Ruto marks two years in office, Kalonzo did not hold back in his critique, rating Ruto’s performance at a mere 2 out of 10, a clear sign of dissatisfaction with the government’s progress.

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru also delivered his speech, calling on the youth to play an active role in fixing the nation.His remarks echoed the need for the younger generation to be agents of change and demand accountability from leaders.

“Take time out of your busy schedule to fix this country. This country must change, say

no to corruption.” Remarked Ndegwa

Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu took a more direct approach in his address, criticizing President Ruto for failing to live up to his promises.

“Our country is having one problem, politics of lies, Ruto lied to bishops and the people of the church when he said there would never be extrajudicial killings, yet what we are experiencing now is the disappearance of people.”He noted

Waititu also expressed his belief that Kalonzo Musyoka is the right leader to steer the country in the right direction. “As people of Mount Kenya, the only solution is Kalonzo Musyoka, who will bring the country together and lead it in the right direction,” Waititu added.

The event underscored the Wiper leader’s increasing appeal in the Mount Kenya region, with Kalonzo’s message of unity and accountability resonating with the youth and other stakeholders present.
