- Heroes and heroines are remembered and celebrated until someone else sets a better record than them. Thousands of cases can be cited of brave people being elevated in various communities however not every time braveness serves the interest of the brave person or of the society yet his braveness is appreciated by many even if the net effect is a loss.
- In an insecurity prone area the person who confronts the situation is feared by many who claim that he can pass where others are afraid of accessing but in case he is attacked and injured in the process he is denied a chance in the near future to have such an undertaking.
It is praiseworthy to be brave and fearless, but sometimes it is better to be a coward. We often stand in the compound of a coward to point at the ruins where a brave man used to live. ………… Chinua Achebe.
Braveness is something that is enjoyed by all communities all over the world as it boosts morale of the target group to maximize their efforts. A brave person would lead troops to conquer where they could otherwise have surrendered.
Intentional inventors and innovators are dare devils who do not get contented with the existing circumstances but go ahead to come up with new processes which are at first ignored by many, criticized by others only to be accepted by a few. It is with passage of time and continued use of the new process that they take it up.
In my culture a boy child once born receives five ululations one of them being for braveness as he is expected to win competitions especially between him and people of other cultures. This wish when achieved is a great joy to him and his community.
In games it is notable that a seemingly weak team may be cheered motivating it to increase its efforts until it yield positive results. The cheer leader by all aspects may be seen as the greatest motivator of his team. His braveness is much required.
Emphasizing the need of brave leadership Alexander the great noted that an army of sheep lead by a lion is stronger than an army of lions lead by a sheep.

Worse still he could die in such adventures yet his community would term him as unexceptional but no one can feel the goodness or pain on your behalf as the two are personalized feelings.
When food is inadequate to be fed to both the parents and the young one it is important to weigh the expected results as the child would not go to work to feed the family so if some are spared for the parents they can have some energy to go and search for food to feed the whole family. Any parent who wants to be seen as brave by eating nothing yet labouring in search of food may end up falling by the wayside even dying of hunger to be seen brave in eyes of his kids.
Like in investments the cost-benefit analysis need to be done before making any engagement to determine whether the net effect is beneficial or otherwise. Do not just take your undertaking for the sake of being seen as a hero. Remember that once dead you cannot be resurrected in the name of being a hero.
Do not kill a soldier leave him for another fight should be a key principle to be considered whenever entering into undertakings. Never take glory for doing what will not add any value to your life as well as that of others. Unjustified fame should not be your key thing to delight in. put yourself in the position of your opponent and ask whether you could be happy if actions taken to him are taken to you and justifications you gave are given.
When the foreseen conditions are favourable to you then you could engage in battle to avoid becoming the casualty in the process. Aim at fighting to win rather than to become famous. Better to be alive even if you are seen as a coward that to die and be termed as hero.
In game theory try to look for a win- win situation if not go for zero sum game that is win-lose if your chances are of emerging winner are favourable.
