A section of youths in Kisii have expressed their dissatisfaction and mistrust with Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi seeking Senatorial seat under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) after he dropped his Gubernatorial bid.
This comes barely after the deputy governor decamped from ODM to UDA citing betrayal and frustration in the ODM party a head of the Nominations.
According to some sections of youths Mr Maangi’s entry may cause a political realignment after he declared his bid for senatorial bid and dropping his gubernatorial bid.
Led by Kisii Youth President Kelvin Mosomi, said Maangi’s entry to UDA and being promised a ticket is not ideal for other royal candidate city lawyer Okengo Nyambane.
“We are dissatisfied with what’s cooking in political realignments from the UDA party in Kisii,”Said Mosomi.
A section of youths affiliated to Okeng’o didn’t welcome Maangi’s move to the party saying he is causing political confusion and mistrust of his political stand considering his the past relationship with ODM and UDA parties.
“Our deputy governor is someone who can’t be trusted; we have seen his past relationship of not having any political stand, we don’t trust him anymore,” said Mosomi.
Mr Mosomi, said, they believe in youth leadership and they have already declared their political stand for Nyambane.
“We believe in the hustle national, we believe in the youth, we challenge the UDA party to conduct free and fair nominations,” said Mosomi.
His sentiments were echoed by Jairus Morara a youth from Kisii, said that, they lost trust with the deputy governor and his entry to UDA will force them withdraw their support to the deputy president.
“We believe in democracy and loyalty,we have our own candidate to support and that’s Okengo Nyambane,”the youth said.
The city lawyer Okengo Nyambane has been enjoying the privilege of the only senatorial candidate under the UDA party till when Maangi declared his political position.
Mr Maangi was welcomed back to UDA by deputy president William Ruto after he was chickened out from ODM after Raila Odinga’s visit in Kisii.
