If we cannot do extraordinary things, then let us do ordinary things in an extraordinary way. A story is told of an old woman who was taking an early morning walk to stretch up her aging muscles and perhaps keep fit – along the shores of the lake. She at a glance found out that a lot of fish were out of the waters and most had started to die. You know what she did?! Guess what?
She started picking the fish one by one that were still visibly alive, and throwing them back in the lake. A few minutes later people found her; they wondered of an old ‘crazy’ woman wasting her time throwing back the fish into the lake.
They ridiculed … hey old woman, why then waste time pushing the fish back to the lake? Come on, … still you won’t be able to throw all of them back.
She looked at them and smiled, warmly responding to them and said; I may not throw all of the fish back into the lake: but, nevertheless, I shall certainly save some I can.
Wow, what a powerful message to pick from the story above?! I want to frankly tell you that we can make a difference. However small it maybe, we can make a difference. “be the change that you want to see” – Mahatma Gandhi.
Each one of us is bestowed with enough potential to make a difference, thus, I chose to write and such that my message shall at a time like this speak deeply to your heart. Start with the little you have, start from where you are, meet first the people around you – and trust me you will achieve wonders. “The hardest step is to start; the rest is just tenacity.” Sight is a function of the eyes while vision is a function of the heart – Myles Munroe.
