Preparations for the burial of the father to former Mungiki Sect chairman Maina Njenga have been finalised.
Mzee Stephen Kamunya Njoroge, 101 will be buried tomorrow at his Ng’arua home in Laikipia West Sub-County, Laikipia County.

Last evening, Maina invited Kenyans, their religious or political inclination not withstanding to their homestead for the final send-off, of the former freedom fighter.
Speaking at his Kitengela residence in Kajiado County, Maina said all preparations had finalised and thanked Kenyans for trooping in their homes to condole with them.
He said thousands of mourners are expected to attend and witness the final journey of the late Kamunya who died early this month.
Njenga spoke in the company of dozens of former freedom fighters and their descendants who had visited to condole him.
“All is set and we have prepared everything. Let’s give our father and former freedom fighter a befitting send-off,” he said, remarks that were followed by heavy downpours in the usually dry area.
The team, led by Mzee Munyao who represented MMV Associates CLG director James Njuguna Mahuria said thousands of their members will be attending the burial.

Njenga thanked the team saying he hoped that the government will speed up their compensation process.
Earlier, Njenga had hosted various political leaders led by Kiambu Women Representative Ann Muratha.
Addressing mourners, the MP urged them to support the government saying there was no point of abandoning a system their toiled to put in power. She said it would be foolhardy to leave the government over issues of one person and join the opposition.
Dozens of mourners including senior government and opposition figures have been flocking Njenga’s home since the passing on of his father.
