Kenyans who love playing Pool should expect more and exciting tournaments next year.

The game major organisers; Base Yetu has promised to make the game more enjoyable in the coming year.

Base Yetu Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nick Mararo says his organization is hoping to travel far and wide across the country, promoting the game.

Pool, Mararo says should be treated just like any other game and should not be condemned as activity that attracts criminals and idlers.

Mararo has called on the government to consider promoting the game just like it does to football,  volleyball,  athletics and others gaming activities saying unlike most other sporting activities, in every village, one can find at least one Pool.table.

This year,  Base Yetu organised dozens of Pool tournaments in various counties. Some of these tournaments have been graced by players from neighbouring countries like Uganda and Tanzania.

The culmination of Pool activities was a mega tournament challenge that took place in Eldoret town between December 9 and 12.

This tournament saw the winner, David Mbuthi take home Sh500,000 in the men category while Mercy Khasandi received Sh200,000 for emerging the best in women category.

During the tournament which had attracted hundreds of players, cash and merchandise worth more than Sh2 million were given out, courtesy of Base Yetu,  a private entity that has been promoting talents and various passion amongst the young people in the country.
