The Central Kenya National Show will kick off next week from Wednesday to 7th to Saturday 10th September, 2022 at Kabiruini Showground.
Central Kenya A.S.K Branch Chairman Patrick Karinga said preparations are in top gear ahead of next week’s event.
County Government of Nyeri roads machinery were busy upgrading local roads inside the Showground as local youths cleared bushes.
Security has also been beefed up around the Showground.
The show has attracted over 110 exhibitors inclusive of Financial institutions, institutions of higher learning, health and hospitality institutions, sectors of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, trade, Manufacturing, NGOs, CBOs, youth enterprises, women based groups, among others.
This year’s theme is “Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade.” No show has been held in the area for the last two years since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country.
Funfair activities are also expected to play a bigger role in entertaining the shower goers.
The show is expected to be officially opened on Friday.
The Chairman appealed unto all farmers and entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas to attend and take part in this premier event that provides a favourable platform for the display of technology and innovations in its diversities.
Some of the exhibitors include Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), Thika Motor Dealers, Tea Board of Kenya, Almasi Beverages, Mukurwe-ini Wakulima Dairy, Romer Water and Environment Protection and Prisons department.
Nyeri County entrepreneurs have not been left behind in exhibiting their areas of trade. These include BradeGate Poultry Industries limited which is owned by businessman cum politician Dr Thuo Mathenge and World Wide Sires which is owned by former Kieni MP Dr Chris Murungaru.
Saccos have not been left behind with Taifa, Biashara, Newfortis and Wanachi Saccos already having rehabilitated their stands.
Some of the new entrants include painter maker, Muthokinju, catering services provider Sangare Gardens, properties and land dealers; Golden Green Properties and Alicons Housing Real Estate.
Others include Dryland seeds, Good Farmland Management limited, Croptech limited and Maker Pump/Kirkstart.
Various government ministries, institutions and parastatals will also be exhibiting.
Some of these include the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.
Government agencies include National Cereals and Produce Board, Office of Registrar of Political Parties, Tana Water Works Development Agency, Child Welfare Society of Kenya, National Hospital Insurance Fund and Unclaimed Financial Assets.
