Plans to elevate Chuka technical and vocational college in Mariani ward of Chuka Igambang’ombe Constituency to a national polytechnic are in top gear.
This has been revealed by Chuka Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene after jointly visiting the institution with the presidential delivery unit to assess its preparedness.
According to MP Patrick,the institution that started four years ago together with other TVETS around has rapidly grown and currently has over 3000 students,a success he attributed to intense lobbying and marketing.
After the visit,he stated that the president had directed that two hostels of 500 capacity each be put up in the college in preparation for the elevation.
Also,he said that when President Ruto will be visiting the constituency in about two months’ time he will launch tarmacking of the road leading to the institution.
Another project Ruto will be inspecting on his visit is Sh 130 million Chuka KMTC that the government is building.
The second time youthful MP said his constituency was reaping all this from his cordial relationship with the president and the government of the day.
The college has completely transformed the once unknown Mwanjati and Kianthan’ga areas of Mariani ward,as evidenced by mushrooming buildings and other business enterprises to cater for the rising population of students.
The legislator was addressing Meru South teachers when he graced their annual general meeting at Chuka Baptist Church hall in Chuka town.
