Dream remains in the eyes
–Collaboration poem from Zimbabwean Poets–
Stephen Mupoto [Ngugi Wamkiri]
Norman Mwale [The PenPusher]
As the day withers and wastes away,
The sun slithers to slumber.
The day lumbers towards sleep,
And still your beauty glows.
When the sun sleeps,
Your beauty illuminates the night.
The clock ticks,
Powered by battery energy,
But the world oscillates around
Nondescript beauty,
Who can beat the glow
That comes from your smile?
Your deportment is the paradigm
Of the ever sprouting lily of the valley
That shines in the morning rays.
You are this sweet supine song,
That awakens sleeping nature,
With colourful butterflies mocking your
Drape
You’re the poetry of immortal beauty
That whelms the eye,
Leaving this blissful ache,
With the saints longing for your
Satiety voice,
Your milky smile lingers, invoking
The pathway of cherubic memories
That fondle the heavens
With splendiferous beauty,
With nature’s fauna
Proclaiming your aromatized salient body!
