- Kiambu patron Hon. Nyanja stated that we as Kiama Kia ma Kiambu County will suspend all other cultural ceremonies during the circumcision period up until the 30th November 2023 to honour the most important stage of our boys lives.
- The patrons called upon all parents to embrace the cultural practice of bringing our boys closer to their fathers and ensuring they get adequate life skills teaching, duties of the boy child in homesteads, how to tackle the challenges in the modern society as well as how to integrate and aim the sky in their high school education.
The National Gikuyu Council Elders Association Kiama Kia ma, Kiambu County chapter assembled on Saturday 4th Nov 2023 at Kikuyu Sub County Gikambura to coronate the Sub County Patron Elder Njunge Mukirae.
The elder was nominated by all kikuyu sub county kiama Kia ma elders to take charge of uniting elders from all corners of kikuyu Sub County and aide the county patron Hon. Nyanja too in uniting Kiama Kia ma Kiambu County.
Kiambu county elders from all sub counties joined the ceremony, the national office kiama Kia ma under the able leadership of Chairman Ngundu Gaithuma was well represented by the national Secretary General Eng.Muiru and the deputy national patron Hon. George Wainana they both gave a message of good wishes to all young boys who will be undergoing the circumcision from the 5th Nov 2023.

Kikuyu Sub County patron Elder Mukirae promised to always be supportive in his society and the neighborhood too to ensure cohesiveness amongst the people living around kikuyu Sub County. He added he will always be ready to advice whenever approached. He further thanked the area MP. Who is also the majority leader in parliament Kimani Ichungwa for choosing not be partisan in Cultural matters, he applauded him for the respect of cultural ceremonies unlike those who have been trying to use administrative powers to intimidate and stop cultural ceremonies simply because the said elders don’t subscribe to dictatorship and egocentric ways of gaining millage in the name of Kiama Kia ma elders.
He added that a time has come for Kiama Kia ma Kiambu county to unite and speak in one solid voice by way of electing one Kiambu county chairman which will happen soon after the boys circumcision exercise to bring to an end the wrangles that have been murred by a self-appointed ‘national Patron’ yet he has never been appointed by the Gikuyu Elders.
The elders stated clearly with no fear of contradiction that the appointed national patron is and remains to be Elder Kinyua Mwangi who was appointed by elders from the 12 counties that subscribe to our Gikuyu language at a function held in Nyeri County in broad day light.
The interim Kiama Kia ma Kiambu county office announced that plans are underway to hold a Kiambu county Congress so as to elect a new United Kiambu county office later in December or there about.
Muthamaki Thiongo Wa Gitau emphasized the need to have unity in our counties under the leadership of National chair Ndungu Gaithuma and his two deputies Mugo Njoroge and Minae Njoroge. He challenged parents to bring our young generation closer to us to ensure we give them both the fatherly love and motherly love too, he said both parents must be supportive in the upbringing of the kids especially at the modern days where kids are growing without vast knowledge of culture and rule of respect like in the olden days. He asked parents to always make time to talk to their kids from time to time just like we bend a tree while it’s still young.
