Abstract: This article is dedicated to the role and importance of reading in forming the spiritual outlook of the primary school pupils, their knowledge of literature, the appropriate use of books, the development of their reading qualities and creativity through it. The most important task of primary education is to teach children to read. This skill is necessary for every schoolchild, first of all as a general educational tool in the assimilation of all school subjects, it is also the most important type of speech and mental activity, a means of self-education and self-education. Meanwhile, the state of the ability to read among junior schoolchildren significantly lags behind the required level, which has a strong effect on academic performance. For many underperforming students, it is poor reading that is the root cause of their underperformance in elementary school.

At present, with the increase in information, students’ lust for knowledge, self-development and scientific and creative search, limitless interest in information and discoveries, and the educational system being in great demand, the faculty’s ability to work on themselves, to improve their skills and abilities is the main motivator for further development of their mentality and awareness of all the educational system innovations. In recent years, new pedagogical technologies, innovations, new pedagogical-psychological concepts, interactive methods that are rapidly penetrating into the education system, on the part of the teacher, have dramatically changed the content of education. It is no exaggeration to say that it has sent. It is advisable to make use of the influence of reading books on the individual’s intellectual, psychological and physiological development in elementary school students.[1] Reading books, therefore, develops pupils’ speech, enriches their speech (vocabulary), develops imagination, thinking, strengthens memory, fosters feelings (emotional qualities) and forms ” social perception”. Reading books, therefore, develops pupils’ speech, enriches their speech (vocabulary), strengthens their imagination, thought, memory, and senses (emotional qualities). This proves that achieving a positive attitude of students towards reading books in the early grades is one of the topical educational tasks. By tackling this task, starting from the primary school period, it is feasible to orient the individual (students) to a coherent and correct path of social relations. Reading comprehension skill consists of different types of reading which is related to reading styles.

Therefore, it is advisable to perceive children’s literature not just as a pastime, but as the most effective means of shaping their intellectual, emotional and moral culture in order to foster a positive attitude towards books among primary school students. After all, the book and reading books have a special place in ” education of spirituality of the younger generation, further development of our national literature and art, educating young people in the spirit of respect for our national values. A reading should be able to interest, amuse, surprise and excite children[3].
One of the most important educational effects of children’s literature is determined by the fact that it serves to form in children an aesthetic outlook (aesthetic consciousness, feeling, taste, ideal, intuition, imagination, thinking and vision). The formation and development of an aesthetic outlook helps children to develop their emotional development. The crucial aspect of emotional development is to ensure that children do not become indifferent or indifferent to the people around them, to existence and to the nature.
Primary school teachers can only achieve the expected results if they are sufficiently informed about the educational-psychological foundations, organizational and methodological requirements of the process of forming the reading skills of their pupils. In order for them to be aware of the current situation in primary school students’ reading skills formation, as well as the factors that serve the effective course of this process and their pedagogical and psychological impact, they also need to be aware of the current situation in primary school students’ reading skills formation.
