Diaspora Affairs PS Hosts Students Under the Kenya-Germany Exchange Programme

The Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Roseline Njogu, today hosted students from Alliance Girls High School, Alliance High School, and Andreas School in Germany at the Diaspora offices in Nairobi. The students are part of a school exchange program aimed at fostering German language training and strengthening cultural ties between Kenyan and German schools.
The meeting, which was attended by representatives from the Goethe Institute, served as a platform to explore strategies for enhancing language skills and cultural understanding. These efforts aim to deepen the connections between Kenya and Germany.
In her remarks, PS Njogu underscored the importance of language proficiency, noting it as a key requirement in the recently signed comprehensive labor agreement between Kenya and Germany. She highlighted that mastering the German language would play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the agreement.
The group leader, Mr. Peter Ayiro, expressed his support for the collaboration between the government and educational institutions, emphasizing its value in improving skills and promoting extracurricular activities.
Other attendees included Mr. Heiner Schuster, Ms. Maike Schleper, Ms. Franca Werner, Ms. Claudia Schilling (Language Advisor), and Ms. Josephine Ochieng’ (Programme Assistant). Also present were Mr. Glenns Etyang (DD-OPS), Nicholas Ndege (Director, Studienbrücke), and teachers Mr. Kipkoech Sang, Mr. Dennis Malesi, Ms. Pauline Gathogo, and Mr. Benjamin Kuto.
This program marks a significant step in fostering international collaboration and creating opportunities for Kenyan students to broaden their skills and horizons through cultural exchange.
