Dr Deepak Rosha
Q Tell us something about yourself
Ans: Hello I am Dr Deepak Rosha a pulmonologist in Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. I have published over 50 papers original scientific over a career spanning more than 40years. I am also a recognized teacher for postgraduates and have mentored a significant number of student doctors. Over the years many ideas for stories were in my mind, but due to pressure of work I was not getting any time to actually write these stories.
2 Q How did you start writing?
Ans: Writing has always come easily to me; I was writing poetry from a young age. Some of these poems were published in my college magazine. I even published a book of poetry titled ‘So much to say’ on Amazon a while ago. Then during the covid times due to the imposed restrictions I got the time to write the books I had always wanted to.
3 Q What motivates you?
Ans: Once the story has developed in my mind, I cannot rest till I have written it. It is almost as if the story writes itself and drives me to write it. Then and only then I feel at peace.
4 Q Who inspires you?
Ans: My favourite author is PG Wodehouse. I always try to write in a light humourous style inspired by him.
5 Q What are the challenges you faced?
Ans: The main challenge was to find the time from my busy practice to write. Due to covid times it has been difficult to personally promote my books. All promotion has to be online. Thus, though the books have been acclaimed by all who read them, they have not reached a wider audience that they perhaps deserve.
6 Q What have you achieved till date?
Ans: So far, I have written five books out of which two have been published. The other three are in the process of being published. My books have been lauded by reviewers as engrossing and unusual stories.
7 Q How did your profession influence your writing?
Ans: Being a doctor has, I believe, given me a deep insight into human nature. This as has helped me in creating characters in my stories that are credible.
8 Q Tell us something about the
books you have written
Ans: My first book ‘Raja of nowhere’ is about a baby kidnapped in undivided India, who is reunited with his family after 70 years. He is now a famous politician and scion of a princely state. The realization that he is not what he always thought himself to be creates a conflict in his mind. Meanwhile forces are acting behind his back to place him in great danger.
My second book ‘Saga of spy X13’ is about two seemingly challenged boys in a boarding school situated on the Indian side of the border during the 1965 war with Pakistan. They are contacted by a mysterious spy who eggs them on to play a series of pranks that ultimately lead to disaster.
As my other books are yet to be published, I shall not discuss them yet. Rest assured all the stories are different from each other.
9 Q What are your future plans?
Ans: I plan to continue writing even after I retire from the medical profession.
10 Q Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Ans: I would like to see myself as a widely read and appreciated writer.
11 Q Where can readers find your
books?
Ans: My books are available on Amazon and Flipkart
12 Q Please give some valuable advice to the budding authors so that they get inspired by you?
Ans: If you enjoy writing and write with sincerity you will always succeed.
