The E4Impact Entrepreneurship Center in Karen, Nairobi, recently celebrated a milestone in its mission to support impact-driven startups and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The event marked the graduation of its current accelerator and incubator cohorts, the launch of a new cohort, and the inauguration of cutting-edge training facilities.
Notable attendees included Roberto Natali, Italian Ambassador to Kenya; Susan Mang’eni, Principal Secretary of the State Department of MSME Development; Mr. Giovanni Grandi, Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS); and Prof. Mario Molteni, CEO of the E4Impact Foundation.
Natali emphasized the importance of private sector support in economic development: “We believe that the private sector is the backbone of any economy and enhancing business and employment creation is one of the pillars of the partnerships and friendship we have established with Kenya. We aim to act as bridge builders between Italian and Kenyan businesses through financial investments and technical assistance to facilitate trade, knowledge exchange, and innovation.”
Mr Grandi highlighted the alignment of E4Impact’s support with broader developmental goals: “In the multiannual program signed between Italy and the Kenyan government, based on the 3 Ps of the 2030 Agenda, prosperity is one of the key pillars. Our support for E4Impact is aligned with this pillar.”
The graduation ceremony saw 39 enterprises complete their programs, with 29 finishing the Accelerator program and 10 the Incubator program. Over the past 12 months, these enterprises benefited from extensive training in business strategy, financial accounting, marketing, investor readiness, and impact measurement, along with valuable networking opportunities.
Prof. Molteni encouraged graduates to stay connected and leverage ongoing support: “Dear graduates, keep in touch. At E4Impact, we create long-lasting relationships with our entrepreneurs. We have established a B2B platform to foster continental exchange. We can assist with market access in Italy and Europe. To the incoming cohort, participate actively, express your needs, and be open to the opportunities that arise. Engage your teams in activities that interest you.”
The newly inaugurated facilities are set to enhance the center’s capabilities, offering advanced resources and a conducive environment for innovation and growth. E4Impact remains committed to driving inclusive growth and job creation across Africa, tailoring its programs to build a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and strengthen economies throughout the continent.
E4Impact is a trailblazer in promoting sustainable entrepreneurial solutions in Kenya. Through its robust programs, it aims to catalyze growth, drive innovation, and foster international partnerships that champion economic progress and sustainable impact.
