EPRA held a research and innovation conference to foster local innovation and develop affordable, accessible, and reliable energy solutions for consumers.
EPRA Director General Daniel Kiptoo emphasised the importance of research in emerging energy transactions, stating that it can unlock innovative solutions that benefit Kenyan consumers by lowering costs, increasing access to clean energy, and creating a more secure power supply.
The conference aligns with the EPRA Energy and Statistics Report 2019, which focuses on energy transition, decarbonisation, and energy market development.
Kiptoo urged the youth in training institutions to take an interest in energy research and innovation, as it will create job opportunities and change their lives.
The conference also emphasised the importance of quality data in shaping energy transition policies.
EPRA is working with security agencies, NEMA, and the Ministry of Environment to establish a clear regulatory framework on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
