Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua being welcomed at Kangari AIPCA in Kigumo

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has he is optimistic that he will finally be acquitted of all the allegations he was subjected to during the impeachment.
The second Deputy President in the country said that one of the allegations of his Impeachment was undermining the government which he now says was telling President William Ruto off about the Adani deal and which has finally come true.

Putting president William Ruto on the defence, the former DP has said that the government has turned a deaf ear to people who elected them and were it not for the government of the United State of America’s intervention, the Adani deal would be active.
” It has taken the hand of America’s government for a change of heart of president Ruto. It was not his will but external forces. Why did we get here?. The people had already pronounced themselves about the deal but the government kept mum, he added.
He asked the president and all elected leaders to listen to the people because they are supreme.
” I’m kindly asking all the elected leaders led by President Ruto to listen to the people before imposing exploitative policies to them. We used to campaign with the Mama Mboga slogan but there is no one who speaks about them nowadays, listen to the people. It’s the people who gave you the job. he said.”
On his commitment to ensuring that the Mt. Kenya region stays United for future, he stated that he will give a signal starting from January next year on the political journey of the Mountain.
” I’m engaging with diverse leaders, current and former, professionals, Church leaders and other people and I wil give a signal soon. We have already known our friends and we will even make more,” he affirmed.
Mr. Gachagua was accompanied by a host of leaders including area MP Joseph Munyoro, Senators John Methu (Nyandarua), Kamau Murango (Kirinyaga), Joe Nyutu (Murang’a), Karungo Wa Thagwa (Kiambu) members of Parliament James Gakuya (Embakasi North) Benjamin Gathiru Mejja Donk (Embakasi Central) Amos Mwago (Starehe ) Edward Muriu (Gatanga).
In their speeches, the law makers castigated the government for failing to listen to the needs of the citizens.
They said the current government was applying divide and rule tactics in the mountain region by among other things, sacking locals and replacing them with others from the area.
Further, they noted, the Government was replacing parliamentary leadership with leaders from the area in a bid to create a wedge among different counties leaders.
Other leaders who accompanied the former DP who speakers, including the clergy referred to as “Deputy President of the People” were former Members of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu, (Nyeri Town), George Theuri, (Embakasi West) as well as dozens of Members of County Assembly.
