HOW A FRIEND INFLUENCED ME INTO RADIO MAISHA

By; Antony Achayo

As Radio Maisha still remains to be the leading radio station in Kenya, everyone has a different story to tell whenever he or she should be asked to explain why they love “Redio Zaidi ya redio” Back in the year 2015 when I had just sat for my KCPE exams at St. Gloria Nyamonye Junior Academy, the government as usual gave us a break to relax our minds as we get prepared to join high school. At that particular break i got in touch with a friend, Samuel Ochieng Onyango, a commerce student at Kisumu National polytechnic. He was a great fan of Maisha jioni when we met. My interest for the same show began to grow day by day and after sometime, I was part and parcel of team Maisha jioni.

Throughout my entire life at St. Mary’s School Yala, I enjoyed listening to Radio Maisha little did I know that it would later influence me into choosing journalism as my career. Today, I am a promising communication and media student at Rongo University. Let’s all tune to Radio Maisha every day.
