When a mother in Nairobi found herself in a desperate race against time to save her son during a severe asthma attack, she never imagined that an online pharmacy would be her lifeline. In what began as an ordinary evening, the mother, who prefers to remain anonymous, soon found herself battling panic and uncertainty when her son’s condition suddenly worsened in the middle of the night.
Her son, who had spent the day playing outside, had shown no signs of distress earlier. But as the night progressed, his breathing became increasingly labored. What started as mild discomfort quickly escalated into a full-blown asthma attack. “His breathing grew heavy, and soon, he was gasping for air,” she recalled.
The situation took a critical turn when she realized that his inhaler was nowhere to be found. Even the backup medication she had stored away was missing. “I turned the whole house upside down searching for his inhaler, but it was nowhere to be found. It had been a while since his last attack, and I hadn’t checked if we still had enough medication,” she admitted.
With her son struggling to breathe and no medication in sight, she quickly reached out to her friends in the medical field, hoping for a solution. One of them suggested she try an online pharmacy, Pharmily, which provides 24/7 doorstep delivery services. With no other options available, she immediately logged onto the platform, hoping against hope that they could deliver in time.
