Hunger has been a common disaster that has been affecting not only Kenya but across the world.
Even though different methods have established to combat it, but it is still spreading.
Countries like Turkana are at a higher risk people loosing their lives day in day out due to lack of food and water. It is pity to see our brothers and sisters passing away in tremendous way and livestock.
The government should be able to bring in different ways to curb hunger not by only distributing food to its citizens but educating them in a more provincial way.
By growing drought resistance crops such as millet, sorghum, cassava and also sweet potatoes.
This will help them in food and in income.
Citizens should be encouraged not to misuse their land in that they leave it bare, but they can use it in growing even vegetables.
Women empowerment is also meaningful. Women are encouraged to take part in cultivation to earn their own living.
The government together with non-governmental institutions should join hands to at least provide water for irrigation in areas where rains are rare. This will help reduce hunger in a fair percentage and we would not be loosing our friends due to hunger.
