The rise of self-publishing had killed the editor and proof reader’s excellence in the sense of anyone is given the work.
Books full of errors and grammatical mistakes are flying on top of shelves.
As a writer what must you do?
After the book is released invest in a year to knock doors of various grammar teachers and alumni friends to help you to review the work.
My first book was a disaster but our society is polite, hence I saw these errors on the doors of UNICEF asking for endorsement. Do not be mad if anyone corrects you; be grateful because those are your personal people.
To register a company is easy; you just need resources and illustrator as well as an eloquent writer. However your name appearing on a piece of ill written papers is a turn off to the real literature enthusiasts.
We need real authors and writers to capture and interpret our surrounding, however everyone is an author of their own story we just need to increase our capabilities to deliver better books.
One thing for sure Africa is rising and our daily struggles are turning into a reality as we are now taking our narratives to paper as ink carry us along.
After you publish each printing take one copy check for errors, then make corrections.
Also check who are your target market before you choose a topic, analyse the market and after do things better.
Aluta continua 🙏🏿
