Bible
Christ Jesus himself confirmed that the gentiles attained salvation through faith, and even some surpassed the Israelites in the history books. He specifically gave the example of the military commander Naaman (2 Kings 5:1- 14), who believed God’s prophet and obeyed his directives (albeit at first with resistance) in bathing seven times in River Jordan. He was in turn healed of leprosy, and immediately converted to the true worship of the God of Israel.
Another example Jesus gave was that of a Gentile widow of Sarepta (also called Zarephath)—a city in Sidon, a territory in what we now call Lebanon, who offered hospitality to God’s servant Elijah, and in return received extraordinary miracle of provision( read Luke 4:27 )
There is also the centurion who greatly impressed Christ Jesus when he walked on this earth, who had a sick servant and he besought Jesus to heal him. A peculiar case in this case, whence said that he was not worthy for Jesus to come to his house, but only speak a word! “ And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed…”( MATTHEW8:6-9).
Jesus marveled at this man’s statement and said, “Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel” (Matthew 8:10). May this be said of us( and let us purpose if be so) in this day and age. We notice in these examples great reverence to God, accompanied by humility and implementation of great faith (for faith without action is dead).
GLORY BE TO GOD FOREVER AND EVER.
