Kisii gubernatorial candidate Chris Obure under jubilee party has been cleared by Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vie for gubernatorial seat August poll.
Mr Obure was cleared by his running mate William Mbaka.
Speaking at Kisii County Mr Obure said he is set to compete with his competitors.
Mr Obure urged IEBC to be strict with those who flout the law and deal with those who likely to cause violence during the campaigns.
“Our team is going to carry out peaceful campaign,” he said.
Mr Obure urged the electorates to vote for individuals based on their manifesto and track records.
Mr mbaka pleaded to the candidates to embrace peaceful campaigns ahead of the polls.
“I’m still appealing to you to ensure there is peace during your campaigns just as we agreed during the meeting we had with the aspirants last month,”
He challenged their opponents to adhere to the provisions in the IEBC to code of conduct, engage in a peaceful hunt for votes and equally urged their supporters to maintain peace as they have done before.
Kisii County senatorial aspirant Omingo Magara asked supporters to embrace a peaceful campaign as they kick off his peaceful campaign.
