Jubilee party Director of Election and Kieni constituency Member of Parliament Kanini Kega was yesterday cleared to defend his seat.
Kega will now be seeking for a third term as the area MP.
He is banking on his development record to woe votersyo back his bid.
Among the issues he is boasting of are rehabilitation of numerous roads both for bitumen standards and murraming of hundreds of kilometres, uplifting of public schools through rehabilitation of buildings and improvement of security through construction and uplifting police stations.
Further, during his tenure, thousands of students in secondary, colleges and universities have benefitted through the NG-CDF bursary.
Yesterday, while addressing thousands of his supporters when he launched “Kanini Kega Season 3” campaign, the MP promised to ensure more goodies were delivered to them in the next government.
Thousands of supporters attended the launch at Mweiga stadium, an event that was preceeded by his presentation of nomination papers to the local Returning Officer.
Kega will be battling it with among others UDA’s Njoroge Wainaina, Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) Stephen Kiriungi Muchire and Chama Cha Kazi Wachira Keen.
