One of the Nyeri County gubernatorial seat aspirants yesterday pulled out of the race.
Gachara Kamanga alias Anko G of Vision 2030 who was set to contest as an Independent candidate said he would concentrate his energies in drumming up support for the Azimio La Umoja coalition presidential team.
“After careful evaluation of the status of my campaign, and having joined the race only five months ago, I find the remaining time to the general election to be too short for me to execute an aggressive mobilization at the grassroot to ensure a win. Therefore, for this election I will not be offering myself. I wish to thank my family, my devoted supporters, and the entire great people of Nyeri for their support,” Kamanga wrote in a statement.
He continued, “I know this is going to come at a great surprise and concern to those who believe in my vision and mission. As many of you are aware, my development philosophy, policy and program are anchored on four cornerstones; economic revolution, health care reform, youth employment, and aggressive anti-corruption agenda. These four will remain my guiding pillars throughout my public life. Who knows?, I might get the opportunity to advance these ideals in the next cycle of elections in Nyeri County or in other capacity”.
