The Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Women Teachers Association Benter Opande has joined Kenyans in mourning the passing of The Right Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, describing him as “more than a political icon — a symbol of resilience, courage, and an unwavering dream for a freer, fairer nation.”
“Today, Kenya mourns not just a man, but a movement,” Faith said. “Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga embodied the spirit of endurance and inspired generations to believe in justice, equality, and democracy. While his voice may now be silent, his legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those he inspired.”
Benter Opande reflected on Odinga’s lifelong commitment to Kenya’s democratic journey.
“From the depths of detention to the halls of democracy, Baba walked a difficult path so that Kenya could stand tall. His courage paved the way for freedom and his dream continues to guide our national conscience,” she noted.
She urged Kenyans to honor Baba’s memory by standing united beyond political divides and advancing the values he fought for.
“May his courage continue to light our way, and may his vision of a just nation unite us beyond politics,” Opande added.
Conveying her heartfelt sympathies, she said:
“My deepest condolences to Mama Ida Odinga, the entire Odinga family, and to every Kenyan whose heart feels a little heavier today. May Baba rest in eternal peace. His work here is complete, but his dream will never die.” 🇰🇪
