ODM Murangβa senator Pius Kinuthia, a youth aged 32 is the only ODM senatorial aspirant in Mt Kenya region.
Kinuthia will square it with deep pocketed and experience politicians like former Senator Kembi Gitura of Jubilee party and Joe Joe Nyutu of UDA party.
He is however unmoved by their resources saying the people of Murangβa deserves an energetic and focused leader who carries their aspirations and represents their true status.
He has been traversing the county where he says people have been receptive and promising to have a true commoner as it has been witnessed in other regions during the nomination where big names have been trounced by upcoming leaders.
Being a doctor Kinuthia says his key focus is healthcare, βMy key agenda is to fight for better healthcare services for my people and properly oversight public funds.β
Kinuthia say he opted for ODM party due to the admirable track record of its leader Raila Odinga who will be flying the Azimio La Umoja flag during the August general elections.
βI grew up watching Raila calling out graft and fighting for the rights of the common folk and I developed a solid admiration for him,β Kinuthia said.
