Every man belongs to the society. None can claim not to be a member of the society. Every society has its norms which are general social enforceable rules and regulations. They are put in place to either encourage certain acceptable behaviour or discourage some socially unacceptable behaviour. They are rules than defines societal values for example trust is a value whatever one does to promote or uphold that value can be regarded as the norm.
No one feels happy when he is rejected by the society due to his conduct or status. When the reason for rejection is controllable by the affected person it is important that he should take the necessary measures to ensure he is back to the safe zone by not doing what violate the societal standards.
Some of the vices in the society include dishonesty where one can pick without permission what he does not own and behave as if it is his. Generally human beings are selfish in nature so many would wish to own as much as possible so as to be regarded as wealthy in the society which is something likeable by all.

Here you can focus on whatever you are talented in as your selling point to the rest of the society for example if you are a musician try and compose the best songs possible so that your will be promoting yourself as an artist, when you try to appeal to the masses they will be willing to purchase your products after which you will acquire the wealth you require.
You should be aware that human beings are not equal whether age, body size and body shape among other factors so you should not expect to be exactly like that other person who is respected in the society or your role model.
In real sense no one the society respects. It is only that they either honour or fear whatever he possess be it a talent or something material. It is not compulsory that your talent is much noticeable or you currently have wealth provided there is perception that you are likely to benefit in future they will give you high regard. If their anticipation fail to materialize, that is when they will reveal true colours of hatred to poverty and poor persons in particular.
When in need of support yet you know that revealing what is troubling you to the public will lead to the public holding you with low regard you should refrain from doing so rather treat it as a private matter instead visit specialists like psychologists or counselors if the matter at hand is social if financial matter then you need to see financial specialists and health service providers if the issue is medical. All these support groups would in turn offer you the required services while maintaining professional standards like confidentiality so your respect will be maintained.
To remain safe in the eyes of the public never seek sympathy from them rather try to address the particular issues that are bothering you. Let your interactions with them be mutually beneficial rather than you being treated as an underdog.
