You were there when I first cried
Held me in your arms and comforted me
You were there when the first drop of crimson
Detached from the walls of my womb
You showed me the way, mama
Janet. A
A love like no other!
I cursed the day you delivered me into this world
That was the day you felt so much pain and yet so much joy
Your words of wisdom cut deep, they are bitter
Sometimes I hate you for them
But as I grow taller, I realize how nourishing they are
And for some reason, I love you more now because of them!
And to those who are resting,
We honor you.
Sometimes I wish the heavens gave us a little bit more time together, mama
Talking about you makes me miss you more
All the memories of the time we spent together
Will stay alive with me forever.
Crippled or not you call me yours
They say there’s reincarnation
Given a chance, to be born again, I would choose you,
A million more times again as my mother!
I am so grateful to have met you in this life time
Thank you for everything, mama.
Janet. A
