  1. Briefly tell us about yourself.

My name is Simon Mwangangi Mutinda. I was born in Makueni county Mbooni Constituency, Mbooni Location. I went to Mukaatini Primary School and later i joined Mukaatini Secondary before transfering to Nzeveni Secondary School where i did my KCSE exams in 2019. I enrolled at Machakos Technical Training College where i graduated in Beauty Therapy. In my all time schooling i was motivated in being the best. Growing up in Makueni County gave me the courage and the zeal to study and become someone in life. I have always wanted to be part of the beauty world and share my experiences. With this determination I have excelled in many podiums and reached a level even if it is not what I wanted i know I can become better. Generally I know I am in a process of becoming the best version of myself

  1. What motivated you to become who you are.

During my secondary lifetime I like to model during festivals and any special occasions in the school and also I liked to attend modelling occasions whenever they were near our town.

My motivation increased when I was in beauty school. I loved watching models internationally and even in our country Kenya. By watching it open my inner zeal to become one. I was highly motivated by a friend of mine from Mount Kenya University who is a good model. I loved what he was doing and when I reached out he was determined to hold my hand in the modelling world. With his help I have gained courage and become bold in the modelling industry

  1. What does your ideal day look like.

Everyday I start my day with a word of prayer to dedicate my work to the almighty God and then do my house duties and then go to my work of hairdressing. I take a day at a time. Understanding that days are different. And it is always a process.

  1. What is the favourite aspect of your work.

The favorite aspect of my work is when there is a  conducive environment  for me to work and even my modelling training. Also I love  it more when i am getting support from my colleague and showing me where I am wrong. I trust i learn and learning is the best thing in my life.

  1. What is the hardest part of what you do.

In my daily work of hairdressing I usually incur alot of challenges dealing with my clients where by some customers are rude and also convincing some of them is also the hardest task to deal with and also misunderstanding where by some customers may need you to re-do the services again. In my modelling part is getting clients and selling your brand to someone. That part of convincing becomes hard at times and challenging.

  1. Have you ever incurred challenges in your work.

In my modelling I faced a lot of challenges like some modelling costumes and attires I hire them which cost me a lot of money and also sometimes the fee of modelling maybe difficult to raise. Actually the challenge resonate at financial and material challenges.

  1. Do you advertise your work .

I usually advertise my modelling and beauty through tiktok post and also Instagram and sometimes Facebook. This has given me a wide range of fans but I am still not where I want myself to be. Still working on it to see that i have reached many people. My social media handles is Cymoh mutindah in every social media accounts

  1. What advice would you like to give someone that wants to be you .

I would always tell someone this over and over again never give up and keep trying. If you stop trying you stop becoming better

  1. Given a chance what impact would you bring to the nation and yourself .

My aim is always to change the world mostly the beauty world.

I will encourage and motivate a lot of youths to engage themselves in modelling and beauty instead of being ideal.
