Despite this, all seemed well between the Meru Governor and the MCAs, until the ward representative went for their induction workshop in Mombasa.
Adjourning the Assembly ahead of the Mombasa trip, Speaker Ayub Bundi had confirmed that Governor Kawira was to meet the MCAs and interact with them at Mombasa.
However, when asked if they met the governor, the MCAs accused Kawira of deceiving them before egressing the area without meeting them as had been agreed.
“During our Workshop in Mombasa, the governor was to meet the MCAs but did not find time for the members despite promising to have dinner with them.” the Assembly leader told the media.
In her response, Kawira accused the MCAs of trying to extort money from her rubbishing claims that she snubbed meeting the ward representatives.
