The Mount Kenya Agricultural show is back after a three-year break caused by Covid-19 pandemic, Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) has said.

The event which is set to be held in Nanyuki town between May 24 and 27, 2023 is expected to attract hundreds of exhibitors ranging from tourism, hospitality, dairy farming, realtors among other sectors.

“This will be the first show in Nanyuki after a three-year break occasioned by Covid-19. We need it to be so attractive,” said Amos Kirui, Mt. Kenya show branch manager.

Kirui noted this year’s theme will be “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”

Laikipia County Commissioner Mr. Joseph Kanyiri said the agricultural show will be a good opportunity to position Laikipia as the best tourism and hospitality destination.

Kanyiri said they will liaise with the Ministry of Education to see both Primary schools’ pupils and Secondary schools’ students attend the show which will have an array of funfair.

The county government of Laikipia has welcomed the move saying it will rejuvenate economy and enlighten area residents and investors.
