Mombasa County Commissioner Mohamed Hassan

Mombasa County Commissioner Mohamed Hassan has inaugurated the County Multi-Sectoral Coordination and Collaboration Forum on Peace and Security.
The Steering Committee includes government officials, civil society, youths, elders, transport sector leaders, social media influencers, teachers’ unions, and religious leaders.
The forum aims to promote peace and security, conflict prevention and resolution, enhance communication and information sharing, build trust and social cohesion, and create sustainable solutions.
The forum was established to foster cohesion and peaceful coexistence among Kenyans after weeks of protests. The forum will meet monthly to enhance regular consultations and develop work plans on security and peace to prevent conflicts and threats. Similar forums will be established across all six sub-counties of the Port City of Mombasa.
Stakeholders praised the formation of the committee and urged the county commissioner to ensure resolutions were implemented.
