The government has launched a Nairobi County Multi-Sectoral Coordination and Collaboration Forum on Peace and Security, spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, MIDRIFT HURINET and the National Steering Committee. The forum is aimed at fostering collaboration among government agencies, civil society, community leaders, and other sectors to promote peace and security in Nairobi County, while coming up with strategies to enhance sustainable peace solutions and promote social cohesion at the grassroots level. Speaking during the launch, Nairobi County commissioner, David Wanyonyi said that they were looking forward to implementing the Principal Security Services Circular on formulation and activation of regional, county and sub-county multi-sectoral peace and security committees.
Migori County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Services Mr Caleb Opondi has said that Migori County will welcome any discussions to establish a partnership with a private health college from Botswana.
Speaking at his office after meeting Dr. Tiro Mampane, President and Founder of Boitekanelo College-a private medical institution based in Botswana, Opondi said that the discussions were centred on partnership with the institution to establish a campus in Migori. Opondi noted that the initiative to hold consultations between the two parties was a positive indication that the county had the potential to host the facility. The official pointed out that the county was willing to allocate land for the health institution if the decisions were actualized.

Busia county Chief Magistrate Edna Nyaloti has warned area residents against negotiating over defilement cases. Speaking during the official launch of the National Children Service month at Busia Polytechnic ground Nyaloti said that such cases must be reported to the police and suspects be taken to court for prosecution. “Once we take suspects to court and find them guilty, we will follow the sexual offences Act and the sentences are very punitive,” she said. She added that members of the public should ensure that they are protected and are not threatened by perpetrators.
