East African Insurance Supervisors have agreed to collaborate on promoting cross-border insurance products and services to combat low insurance uptake in the region. They will coordinate joint innovation initiatives and supervise systemically important insurance groups. The EAISA 2024/2025 – 2028/2029 Strategic Plan was approved, focusing on five thematic areas: insurance industry stability, market development and innovation, consumer protection, institutional sustainability, cooperation, collaboration, and industry integration. The plan identifies 11 key areas for improvement, including claims handling, fair pricing, innovation hub establishment, product diversification, insurance inclusion, market expansion, crisis management, stress testing, and market surveillance. The plan also involves the creation of regional frameworks for information exchange, risk assessment, supervision, financial literacy, insurance education, and market conduct guidelines.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has launched a unique initiative called ‘Maziwa ya mama, feeding the future’, providing free school milk to Early Childhood Development and Education Program (ECDE) centers in the county. The initiative aims to increase enrollment, boost nutrition, and improve children’s health and wellbeing. The milk will be given twice per week and delivered to all schools at no cost to parents. The initiative has also boosted the economic status of dairy farmers, increased employment opportunities, and provided business opportunities for transport sector investors.
Bandari Football Club has added 12 new players to their squad for the second leg of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) premier league. The club promoted five youth players from the Bandari youth, including David Wanyama, Willy Gitama, Izzadin Ramadhan, Renson Wakalo, and Hamisi Nyale. Derrick Nsibambi, an Ugandan international striker, has his contract extended after an impressive performance. Brian Omondi, the Harambee Stars’ goalkeeper, joined Bandari on a two-year contract after leaving Kenya Commercial Bank. The club’s vice chairman, Twaha Mbarak, plans to sign more players with two weeks remaining until the transfer market closes. Francis Baraza has been appointed as the club’s new tactician with a two-year deal, and Jerim Onyango will double as the team’s goalkeeper trainer.
Nyeri County will forever remain grateful to Cabinet Secretary, Public Service Moses Kuria who apart from supporting and being a great friend to Nyeri residents in different capacities he went a head to appoint the Executive Director of Chama Cha Kazi Muchiri Rware who is from the county.
Rware, who shares his surname with his home county also tops up to be his Personal Assistant and confidant.
He is one of the guys behind the CS efficient delivery in his docket in the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Rware is an ambitious Political mentee of CS Kuria who rose from humble backgrounds. He is a polite and a humble youth leader praised by many for his mastery of soft power which he learnt from his boss.
CS Kuria has been involved in many charity work in Nyeri County that includes supporting learning institutions, students, religious groups as well as political affairs.

Mathira constituency MP Eric Wamumbi yesterday hosted several leaders during the launching of an ambitious education programme that is set to ease cost of learning for his constituents.
The leaders oversaw the official launch of Wamumbi masomo kwa wote programme at Karatina stadium.
Addressing hundreds of people who graced the occasion, Wamumbi disclosed that parents will pay 1,000 per term for their children
He noted that all schools will have equipped laboratories and a modern dinning Hall, adding that such institutions will also receive revision materials.
Among those present were Nyeri County Senator Wahome Wamatinga, Murang’a Women Representative Betty Maina, her Kiambu counterpart Anne Wamuratha, her contemporary from Laikipia Jane Kagiri as well a number of MPs led by Mukurwe-ini’s John Kaguchia and his Kirinyaga Central counterpart Joseph Gitari.
