Tower Sacco has a new branch at Mwisho wa Lami area. The branch is expected yo be opened officially on Saturday. Yesterday, a Sacco Caravan was in Egerton and Njoro areas preparing and meeting with members and potential members ahead of the official launch. Today, the Caravan will be visiting Mwisho wa Lami, Mau Narok, Mathangauta, Likia, Mauche, Ndefo, and Store Mbili areas.
Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen yesterday embarked on a six-day working tour across the six Coastal counties — Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Taita-Taveta, and Lamu. The visit comes in response to a resurgence of criminal gangs that have been terrorizing residents.
However, CS Murkomen reassured both locals and visitors of enhanced security measures in the region. He emphasized that the government is taking proactive steps to boost safety for tourists and protect tourist establishments, particularly after a recent incident in which a tourist was robbed in broad daylight.

Speaking during an induction workshop for the Seafarers’ Wages Council in Kilifi, Dr. Mutua highlighted the vast opportunities available in the industry beyond fishing, including cargo transportation and cruise ship operations. He also announced that the government is working on issuing Seafarers’ Identification Documents (SID), which are essential for those seeking employment in international waters.
The CS noted that just like in any other profession, documentation is critical. For seafarers, the Seafarers’ Identity Document (SID) is vital. Without it, accessing job opportunities abroad becomes nearly impossible. He added that he was committed to ensuring that those who lack this document receive the necessary support to obtain it so they can fully tap into global maritime opportunities.

Yesterday, the Acting Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Mr. Harry Kimtai, accompanied by Moses Kuria, Senior Economic Advisor to the President, and Sakaja Arthur Johnson, Governor of Nairobi City County, led the rollout of the ongoing digitization of health facilities in Nairobi. This initiative marks a significant milestone in improving access, efficiency, and coordination within the healthcare sector. With over 60 hospitals serving nearly 4.9 million residents, the digitization effort aims to streamline patient records, optimize resource utilization, and enhance service delivery across both public and private health facilities within the capital.

Yesterday, the Principals Secretary for Water and Sanitation Mr. Julius Korir flanked by the Chief Executive Officers of Water sector agencies and Ministry officials had an engagement with the Nation Media Group (NMG) at the Kenya Water Institute (KEWI). The aim of the engagement with the NMG is to raise the profile of the activities the State Department is doing to the public, and to accentuate the contribution it makes to the development of our country.
