Nyandarua County Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha presenting cheques yesterday
Nyandarua County Governor Dr Moses Kiarie Badilisha yesterday held a series meeting in several places in his bid to have a firsthand information on the needs of his residents.
The Governor also disbursed cheques in some of the areas he visited.
Residents of Kiriita Ward had an opportunity to engage him in a town-hall consultative forum where various issues of public interest were discussed.
Among the issues discussed included the upgrading of Bari Health Center – including providing it with a stand-by generator and a modern theatre, solid waste management within Mairo Inya Township, reticulation of water and establishment of a modern market in the area.
Like in all other venues visited in Ndaragwa Sub-County, residents thanked Governor Badilisha for his recent cabinet appointments which saw the area bag five senior positions.
“We are grateful for your support and indeed honouring your word by appointing our sons in your government. These are people we know, have grown with and they understand our issues because they’re their own issues too,” Martha Wacuka, a resident of Mutanga said during the meeting also attended by area MCA Milka Wanjiru and her counterparts Kamau Gathungu, Mwangi Kagwe of Leshau Pondo and Ndaragwa Central wards respectively, and Sasha Wamae (Specially Elected).
Addressing the residents, the Governor reiterated his commitment to a responsive Government “that is here for no other business but to serve you. How else can we repay this honour than delivering on our promises,” he posed to hundreds of residents gathered in the CDF Hall, Mutanga.
Echoing this commitment, the Deputy Governor Mathara Mwangi said that the period of fights and lack of services was over.
Cheques worth Sh8.7 million were disbursed in Kiriita Ward, bringing to an end a day in which the County Head traversed five wards meeting residents in open consultative engagements.
