Nyeri County commissioner urged administrators to maintain peace as electioneering period sets in

Nyeri County provincial administrators have been asked to ensure they maintain peace and stability in their areas of jurisdiction as electioneering period sets in.
More emphasis has been put on chiefs and sub chiefs who have been asked to be on the frontline in maintaining peace during this period.
In a meeting attended by over 50 administrators from Kieni constituency in Nyeri, Nyeri County Commissioner Abdullah Galgalo said that they were the grassroots administrators and were expected to promote and ensure peace and security in their areas of administration.
“The chiefs and sub chiefs are the representatives of the president in the grassroots level. The crown I wear is the same they wear. They have kept it together since independence until now,” he said.
While directing orders on the County Commander Adiel Nyange, Mr Galgalo called on the police officers to assist the administration in ensuring peace in the county saying that despite all the political rivality, the county had to remain united.
“These administrators are involved in everything. To get an ID, you need the chief’s stamp, when there is marital conflict, the chief and sub chiefs are the ones who handle it. When we have a problem with alcohol, they are the ones we blame. So I ask you to please support them,” he said.
