“But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (MATTHEW 4:4). Christ Jesus stated, and is continuously telling us, that our lives, our hope, our future, our deliverance are found in the Word that proceed with from the mouth of God, our Father. This Word denotes our sufficiency in God. Everything we need, or will ever need proceeds from Him.
God’s word is eternal, beginning from the eternal past and extending to the eternal future,A and it is also absolute. Nothing can be added to it, or subtracted from it. Jesus, as the Word of God, is the everlasting truth, His life and Words need not subtracting. Nothing more needs to be accomplished for our salvation and full redemption. God accomplished everything needed to attain this. He, himself clearly states: “ I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE, no man cometh unto the Father but by me”—the eternal way, the eternal truth, the eternal life, and furthermore, the only way, the only truth, and the only life! (read John 14:6.)”
God’s Word is also perpetual and ongoing; unending in time and space. He is still continuously fulfilling His word. He is faithful to perform what He has said, He does not lack to do so, as it is written “ He is not man, that He should lie, nor son of man, that He should repent,..” ( Numbers 23:19). It is also revealed by His word that He upholds what He creates. He does not create and leaves it to fend for itself, rather He provides for His creation, He is ever faithful.
