A delegation from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is in the country to know how Kenyan tea they buy is produced.
The delegation was yesterday taken through the entire process; from tea farms, Tea Collection Centres to the factory where it is processed.
The team visited Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) affiliated Kagwe Tea Factory in Kiambu County as part of a bench-marking trip to understand how tea is processed and the various types of teas produced at the facility, which include orthodox teas.
The Pakistan delegation was led by Ms Ambreen Raza, Leader of the 117th Pakistan National Management Course and Junaid Wazir Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to Kenya.
Vincent Mwingirwa, KTDA Head of Sales and Customer Service, led the team during the farm, collection centre and factory tour.
Pakistan is the largest buyer of KTDA teas.
