By: Khabib Sadulla, Uzbekistan
The original son of Uzbek, the national poet of Uzbekistan Khabib Sadula’s entire creation has become the spiritual property of our nation. There is no day when songs sung with his words are not heard. Poems and words of pure wisdom that moved the life of the poet from mortality to eternity are alive in our hearts like him.
Khabib Sadulla was born on April 5, 1942 in the city of Namangan. His father, Saydulla Abdullaev, was killed in 1943 during the Second World War.
When Khabib Sadulla was studying in the second grade, he got hold of the seventh grade literature textbook. Gafur Ghulam’s poem “You are not an orphan” is printed on it, and he reads it over and over again. And he memorizes everything. This poem not only gives him comfort and hope, but at the same time gives him a wing, a fiery love of poetry throughout his life. When the poet was studying in the 10th grade, several of his poetic exercises saw the face of the newspaper. It will be read on regional radio. The poet’s poems such as “Conversation with Spring”, “Discussion”, “Yana Astonangda”, “Extirom”, “Nur Qadri”, “Boglar yurtin bolasimiz” and epic books were published.
In his epics such as “The year of my birth”, “Living victims”, “The sound of the ground”, his thoughts about the importance of peace and the dignity of fighting are expressed. He is also the author of such epics as “Faith”, “Chust Narrative”, “The Value of a Friend”, “The Injury”, “The Fate of a Writer”.
Stage works such as “Yusuf and Zulaiho”, “Hands of Kindness”, “Thank you, provoker” (based on Sharaf Rashidov’s epic with music by Makhmudjon Inomov) were staged in regional theaters. Dozens of his ghazals were sung by Kamoliddin Rakhimov, Nuriddin Khamrokulov, Orinboy Nuraliev, Makhmudjon Isomiddinov, Baqijon Sattarov, Marufjon Oripov and other singers.
Khabib Sadulla’s life and work are an example for young writers like us.
