Kisii senator Sam Ongeri, woman rep Janet Ong’era, Manson Oyongo and Chris Obure boored at Azimio campaign when they stood to address the public.
It’s alleged that the group that shouted to the leaders was mobilized by Simba Arati Kisii aspiring governor.
According to the information that is in public domain, Simba Arati, Janet Ongera and Prof Sam Ongeri have beef on who should carry out the ODM ticket.
Earlier on Arati assured the aspirants that the ODM party will carry out free, fair and transparent nominations.
Arati assured public no one has been given direct nomination.
Speaking at Erera in Kisii County during the Azimio Campaign, the crowd shouted to the Ong’era silencing her not to address them.
Ong’era who abused the crowd in local dialect “Abaisibari nimanyete nechibese mwaetwe,” I know you have been given money to shout to us’.
Senator Ongeri was also shouted when his turn came.
Mr Ongeri said that you can’t shout to the leaders and win the election if you are a true leader.
“It’s political immature when some leaders hire youths who are innocent to shout to the leaders,” he said.
Mr Ongeri said that those seeking elective seats should be given an opportunity to sell their agenda without intimidation.
According to him, they know that some leaders have tendency to dish out money to the youths to cause chaos on public meeting.
Prof Ongeri said that habit of some leaders who are misusing youths to disrupt meetings should cease and carry out mature politics.
He asked the leaders to guide their supporters to respect the law.
“We want a peaceful election and we want every politician to sell their agenda because, at the end of it all, voters will make an informed decision on who to elect,” he said.
Mr Manson Oyongo asked youths to stop fighting over politicians.
He noted that naughty youths are being used by certain politicians to cause chaos in the political rallies of their opponents and yet they do not have voters’ cards.
“I beg you youths elect leaders based on their track records,” he said.
Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o urged Kisii leaders to put their house into order and if there are any differences to come into consensus and solve them amicably.
Mr Nyongo said that Azimio La Umoja they carry out their campaigns peacefully and they don’t want chaos.
