POLITICIS SHOULD NOT LEAD TO TRIBAL DISCRIMINATION

By: Salome Twili

Kenya is a country which comprises of many people from different ethnic groups. The main Linguistic groups include the Bantu, Nilotes and the Cushites. They are further divided into different subgroups depending on their locality or the language they use. Therefore, the people interact in many ways within the country such as in the field of Agriculture, in businesses and also in schools. This is due to peace and harmony which exists in our country.

In this time of campaigns, we are witnessing many incidents where people are being discriminated according to their tribes. They are being disrespected and being nicknamed. This is a shame for that particular tribe because they are shameful of what is happening. Also youths are being used to make wars and fights during this period. This is because they are energetic and they are of little minded. This makes citizens insecure; also this makes the economy to go down because people cannot work for they fear for their lives.

People’s political stand should be respected because it is their constitutional right one to have a leader of their choice. Politicians should not bring hatred but should consider togetherness, brotherhood, harmony, peace and love. Youths should be clever and not make wars. They should provide jobs to make themselves busy and to cater for their family needs.
